Hugo Systems was born out of frustration. Our founders spent years deploying billing systems for ISPs across Kenya — watching expensive software fail because it was built for stable European networks, not Kenyan realities.
We saw ISPs losing revenue to manual M-Pesa reconciliation. We watched retailers struggle with POS systems that died the moment the internet dropped. We built our first product in a co-working space in Nairobi, tested it in Nakuru, and iterated until it worked the way Kenyan businesses actually operate.
Today, we're a 100% remote agency with engineering teams distributed across Kenya and East Africa. We don't have a fancy office — and that's intentional. Every shilling goes into building better products, supporting our clients, and training the next generation of East African technologists.
